The Davio tube DAC is the basic model in our offer.
We started working on it in 2020 and the goal was to create an outstanding musical tube device while maintaining an affordable price.
The project turned out to be a big challenge but also a fascinating adventure.
We have used the experience gained while working on larger devices and in 2023 we can offer a mature device that is a source of joy and pride for us.
In many aspects, Davio is as uncompromising as more expensive models, it has similar functionality and the quality/price ratio is surprisingly high.
The heart of the digital section is a multi-bit DAC from the R2R family.
It is an extremely musical DAC-chip and works with optimally selected digital receivers.
Ultra short signal path, resistor I/V conversion, lack of digital correctors, filters and oversampling, free the signal from unnecessary technical interference.
However, this approach to signal routing requires attention to every detail of the construction.
This topology and our effort put into perfecting the system resulted into a smooth, natural, open sound.
The noble and delicate analog signal is amplified by the 6SN7GT triode operating in a Single Ended circuit without feedback.
The output signal of Davio DAC can be easily matched to the amplifier thanks to switchable signal level.
An important element of the design is efficient power supply.
We have uncompromisingly solved the problem of eliminating interferences between sections and used separate, dedicated transformers for digital and analog parts.
Independent windings and stabilization points for individual digital sections, large filtration capacities ensure stable and interference-free power supply.
In the Davio PLUS version, we use a tube rectifier in the analog section and CLC filtration.
We approached the mechanical design with great care.
The housing is stiff, massive and resistant to resonances.
The panel is made of anodized aluminum.
