Davio Azure DAC

Davio Azure DAC

The Davio Azure is the first DAC in the Davio line to natively support DSD and high-resolution files.

We've put a lot of effort into ensuring the Azure continues the musical character of the Plus and Elite models.

This is another step forward – the Davio Azure delivers true satisfaction

for discerning music lovers who value the richness and diversity of their multi-format music collections.

Key improvements incorporated into the Davio Azure:

-A DAC from the latest generation Velvet Sound line Asahi Kasei

-A JLSounds USB module with full galvanic isolation

-Three power transformers ensure stability and separation of individual blocks

-A dedicated transformer and anode choke made by Edis-Ogonowski

-Copper foil capacitors guarantee naturalness and rich tonal richness

-An advanced anti-resonance system

The new Davio Azure digital section is divided into three independent boards

– one for the USB module, the DAC, and the power supply for the digital circuits.

This modular design minimizes mutual interference

while also enabling easy upgrades to the digital section in the future.

The Azure model features the first use of the excellent JLSounds USB receiver

– a chip that can serve as a benchmark for high-end USB audio transmission solutions.

It's a perfect example of our uncompromising approach to file playback and streaming.

The complete isolation of the USB module from the external digital environment effectively protects against the intrusion of noise

and interference from the streamer or computer.

Precise clocks ensure low jitter, and the autonomous power supply

with a dedicated transformer complements the high-end USB input applications.

Such solutions are found in much more expensive devices,

further emphasizing the exceptional value of the Davio Azure.

The USB module works harmoniously with a modern DAC circuit powered by multi-point regulated power supplies.

The entire digital board has been optimized for listening – both in terms of the type and value of the components used.

The analog section is structurally similar to the Plus and Elite models.

The output, based on a 6SN7GT triode, was designed for purity and transparency of the signal path, while simultaneously ensuring optimal grounding.

But here too, we've gone a step further – increased capacitors capacitance allows for better pulse smoothing and greater operational stability.

The power supply operates in a CLCRCRC configuration, and the 6X5GT rectifier tube ensures a soft start, while also increasing dynamics and tonal saturation.

In the analog power supply section, we used a custom, shielded transformer and an EI core choke – in our opinion, EI cores are the most optimal solution

in tube designs. The output section is completed by solid copper foil capacitors – components rarely found in tube devices in this price range.

The Davio Azure's enclosure has also undergone significant changes.

To minimize resonances, we've reinforced the top cover,

and the entire structure has been precisely  damping .

We've incorporated three massive feet with differentiated designs,

further improving the device's stability and vibration control.

All these solutions translate not only into the Davio Azure's increased mass,

but above all, reduced tube microphonics,

and thus a more coherent, cleaner and more detailed sound.
